Change exp rate/mob dmg

  • Exp rate is WAY too low. There are too little quests and I wouldn't mind the grind IF the mobs weren't hitting that hard. Public Events bosses are mostly impossible to solo (at later levels). At some point its hardly possible to kill group of mobs to grind your level. Besides, even mobs don't give that much experience. It's horrendous to see random road quests giving 10% of your level, and regular quests giving barely 4%. I do understand you do not want people to get to current cap (40) too soon, but don't make it too long either. Please reconsider.

I am level 20 right now (guardian.. so can't imagine what squishy classes are going through) and I am so exhausted I'm considering quitting at this point. No fun, too much struggle. If you don't change it, many players who wanted to casually play will quit.

And I was really excited for this reboot.

  • Yeah, exp rates seem to have been altered, I'm already grinding at level 9 to get further, when the main story like should be sufficient to get you throughout the game for the most part....

Might've been an accidental programming oversight though, who knows

Sadly, not a mistake. Catarix told me its intended via PM...

  • I'm not finding any problems soloing and such... then again healing soul skills ftw lol.
On the other hand, I see why they lowered the exp, cap is 40 after all, if this were DP, after Puretia you'd be already 30-35 if not higher in level lol.
With such a small level cap they can't have us max in 123 then leave :l
Not that the grind is helping us stay haha.

    What level are you?

I am at the point where mobs are level 30+ and I am 26. Well, technically 24, just grinded 2 levels soloely doing dungeons. Did all quests and PEs.

I CAN kill mobs. But the gap is getting biger and bigger.

If you are not use to the original DP it might feel odd for you. The game did not progress too well so they did an update some years ago that added exp gain and quests to the starter zones. Since this game only has max lvl 40 instead of lvl 105 they lowered exp rates down. So most likely you will need to do a bit of dungeon grinding in order to catch up to the story. PEs you can do once a day as well. So farm those as much as you can.

  • Jesus christ do I despise a badly set up WoltLab Suite 3 board...

It's closed beta all over again. At this point doing the Napolite grind Yuuyake recommended in their (gender neutral pronoun because I'm too lazy to remember what sexual attack helicopter someone identifies as) and then going back to soloing PEs, RQs and whatever other questline currently isn't bugged seems to be the only way to keep your sanity. I'm open to any other approach but odds are they didn't remove that exp brick wall that leads to falling behind in the gear curve and having to party until the next level treshold.

None of the squishy classes have a harder time. Kiting and multiple hitboxes are still a thing that can be abused. I share the feeling of quitting tho. I had low expectations from the get go and was just gonna use Savage Hunt as a time sink but there's far more enjoyable options to do so than EXP witholding and bugged quests.

that's just crazy. If I want to grind I'll go to bdo.

But BDO is at least rewarding you for the exp grind while also be less annoying until you hit the soft cap.

I play Guardian with shield, i use basic attack for leveling and... OMG 2 MINUTES FOR KILL A LV12 MOBS HELP ME PLEASE.

There's genuinely no excuse to use basic attacks for leveling. Even before you unlock weapon masteries combos exist leading to a damage increase of 300% compared to plain basic attacking.

RNG and being forced to bring along a specific dragon like this one can't be the answer tho since not everyone gets them early on.

Member Since 07 Apr 2013. The update you are refering to was after Hwarra's registration date so not a valid argument. Dungeon mobs give awful exp just like everything else. Beating the grind through more grinding sounds hysterically funny.

Hyperlinks are semi-broken disturbing the reading flow, but clcking the signature will still direct you to the guide. No personal support tho until I decide whether or not I will stick with this mess of a DP iteration.

Still I think they need to consider most of players that came to game are the ones who previously played the DP....as I stated in some other thread.... they should find the way to entertain the players by some other ways than hardcore grinding...my opinion only

Oh trust me. I hate the grind. I was just addressing why they had run out of quests and are under lvled. xD I would love an exp boost.

I understand all that (and I think most of players are actually....) but I feel soooooo stupid grinding to get to lvl 40.....when I was at lvl 105 (was that a lvl cap in DP...been a long time)..... if emphasis is on dragons than I dont want to spend hours killing boars and be killed by boars (or farming mines xD)...there could be soooo much more.....could of been :/

I know. Hate restarting again. So many toons and durgans lvled up to 105 ;( NA, EU, and now SH with others in between. Sad thing is nothing in regards to content in base dp has been updated since NA shut down. xD

  • Of course I am used to old DP, Which was completely different

You have ZERO idea what you are talking about. A BIT grinding? Today I have been grinding dungeons with Hyve, for around 10hours straight. And I am still underlevelled for curret quests. And, more importantly, each run takes 4minutes or less (Tangaroa, then Catacombs). This is TOO MUCH grind for getting to level cap. Too much.

Lol again not defending the rates xD I know its too much grinding. Just saying that the rates on the old DP kinda sorta matched with the progression of the story. Now its way out of proportion.

  • I'm just outraged by Admin's response that "you only need to grind a bit". You also happened to say so.

Its not a bit. It takes hours. Not to mention Soul drop rate is horrendous, at least for Catacombs. We dropped 1 soul for 4 hours of constant farming...
